Pet Home Euthanasia in Wigan, Done With Kindness
Saying goodbye to a pet is one of the hardest things any family will go through. At The Loving Companion we help you do it at home, where your pet feels safe. We are based in Wigan and we cover roughly a 30 mile radius across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and others so most local families can choose a home visit instead of a stressful trip to the practice.
Our service is run by a veterinary surgeon (Clara, MRCVS) and a registered veterinary nurse (Estelle, RVN). We focus on end of life care only offering at home pet euthanasia. Every visit is calm, explained step by step, and you are given time with your pet.
Why Choose Home Pet Euthanasia
Pets feel safest at home. Elderly dogs that struggle to get in the car, cats that panic in carriers, nervous pets that do not like the practice, all cope better if we come to you. A home visit lets you choose the room, the music, the blanket, even the people who are present. Children or other pets can say goodbye in a quiet way. This makes the experience more personal and more peaceful.
How Our Visit Works
A gentle arrival
We arrive quietly at the time agreed. We talk about your pet, their history and any medicines. If you are still unsure whether this is the right time, we can talk it through first.
Sedation first
We always sedate our patients. This is very important. Sedation helps them relax, get sleepy and stay comfortable. You can hold them, cuddle them or just sit next to them.
IV catheter and final injection
When your pet is fully relaxed we place a small IV catheter. The final injection goes through that. It is fast and painless. It feels like going to sleep. We will tell you what is happening and we will give you time afterwards.
Cremation Options With Leyland Pet Crematorium
After the visit you can choose how you want us to look after your pet. We work with Leyland Pet Crematorium, a trusted local provider. You can choose:
• Individual cremation, with your pet cremated on their own and ashes returned in a scatter tube, pouch or casket.
• Communal cremation, where ashes are not returned.
We handle the transport and we always treat pets with respect. Most families around Wigan choose individual cremation with ashes back.

Our prices are clear and listed on the website. At the time of writing:
