Putting Your Cat to Sleep at Home
Cats are often at their most anxious in a carrier or a vet's waiting room. We come to you, so your cat can be put to sleep calmly in the place they feel safest.

Why a home visit for your cat?
Many cats hate the carrier and the car, and some hide as soon as they sense a trip to the vet. At the end of their life, that stress is something most families want to spare them. At home, your cat can stay in their favourite spot, whether that's a sunny windowsill, your bed or their own basket, with you right beside them.
Cats are also very good at hiding illness. If your cat has stopped eating, stopped grooming, is hiding away or seems "not themselves", it may be time to talk to a vet. We're happy to talk things through on the phone first or carry out a quality-of-life assessment.
Who comes to your home
We are a small, independent mobile practice. Clara is our veterinary surgeon (MRCVS) and Estelle is our registered veterinary nurse (RVN). The two of us come to every visit together, so your pet is always cared for by the same two people from start to finish.
What happens on the day
We come in quietly and let your cat settle. Nothing starts until you are ready.
We always give a sedative first, so your cat drifts into a deep, peaceful sleep while you stroke and talk to them.
Once they are fully asleep, Clara gives the final injection. It is quick and painless.
Clara confirms they have passed, and you have as much time as you need to say goodbye.
Prices for cats
Home euthanasia only (no cremation): £280
With communal cremation (no ashes returned): £300
With individual cremation and ashes returned home: from £475
All prices include VAT. Full payment is taken when you book. See all our prices.
How quickly can you come?
Because there are only two of us, we can't promise every time slot. When we have availability, same-day visits are often possible, sometimes within 2 hours. If you need us today, the quickest way is to call us or message us on WhatsApp.
Aftercare and memorial options
Free keepsakes: if you'd like them, we take a paw print, a nose print and a vial of your cat's fur for you to keep. There's no charge for these.
Individual cremation: we take your cat to Leyland Pet Crematorium, where they are cremated on their own. You can choose an urn or casket from Leyland's memorial range, and we bring the ashes back to your home ourselves, usually within 5 to 7 days.
Communal cremation: your cat is cremated alongside other much-loved pets. The ashes are not returned.
Home burial: choose euthanasia only, and you are free to lay your cat to rest at home.
We're happy to talk through the memorial options before your visit, so you don't have to decide anything on the day.
Memorial options for individual cremation
With individual cremation, your cat's ashes come home in the memorial option you choose. Each price is the total for everything: the home visit, sedation, euthanasia, individual cremation and the urn or casket. You choose when you book, and there are photos of each one further down this page.
